A U-shaped airport — 9 terminals (1–8 plus Tom Bradley International, 'Terminal B') around a two-level central roadway. The upper/lower split is consistent across all terminals except TBIT, which has its own multi-level scheme.

    Ground transport

    Taxi vs bus vs rail depends on group size, luggage, and traffic. Always verify prices at official desks or trusted apps.

    Taxi

    • Taxis can only be picked up at LAX-it, a dedicated pickup lot near Terminal 1 — reached by free shuttle from any terminal's lower level. Taxis and rideshares drop off at the upper/departures level curb directly.

    Bus

    • FlyAway non-stop buses to Union Station and Van Nuys depart from the upper/departures level.

    Metro / Light Rail

    • Free shuttle to the LAX/Metro Transit Center connects to Los Angeles Metro rail and bus lines.
