Shanghai, China

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG)

Two large terminals (T1, T2) plus satellite concourses S1 and S2 reached by underground people mover — landside transfer between T1 and T2 requires exiting and re-entering (they're not connected pre-security).

Terminals & airlines

  • Terminal 1
  • Terminal 2
  • Satellite S1
  • Satellite S2

Before you depart

    After you land

    • Confirm your terminal (T1 vs T2) before heading to the airport — they're a distance apart and not connected on the landside.

    Accessibility & special assistance

Contact your airline at least 48 hours before travel to arrange wheelchair or mobility assistance.

    • Wheelchair assistance — Request through your airline in advance.
    • Accessible restrooms — Available throughout both terminals.

    Floor guide

    • 1FBaggage claim, ground transportation (taxi, bus, metro)
    • 2FArrivals hall, transfers, Maglev station (on the walkway between T1/T2)
    • 3FDepartures — check-in, security

    Ground transport

Taxi vs bus vs rail depends on group size, luggage, and traffic. Always verify prices at official desks or trusted apps.

    Taxi

    • Metered taxis are available at the official stand outside the Arrivals Hall — ignore anyone who approaches you directly claiming the Maglev is broken or shut down, a known scam to steer you to an overpriced taxi.

    Avoid common scams

    • Touts near the Maglev station claiming it's 'broken' or 'shut down for weather' to redirect you to an expensive taxi — the Maglev runs daily.
Get a ride with Uber ↗

Opens Uber with pickup set at PVG. Availability, fares, and vehicle types vary by city—check the app for current options.

    Bus

    • Airport shuttle buses to the city run 24 hours.

    Rail (Metro / Maglev)

    • Metro Line 2 connects to downtown Shanghai (change at Guanglan Rd from People's Square direction).
    • The Shanghai Maglev train to Longyang Road (Metro Line 2) takes about 8 minutes — the station is on the 2nd floor walkway between T1 and T2.

Information is for planning only. Always confirm schedules and fares with the airport and operators before travel.
